Celebrate Literacy Week--January 22-26, 2018

We are pleased to announce that Marianna Middle School will be participating in the Florida Department of Education’s Celebrate Literacy Week, January 22-26, 2018. 

The students will have daily trivia questions during the morning announcements.  Each classroom teacher will be invited to participate in a door decorating contest.  The Reading teachers along with the librarian and administration will also have a variety of other activities that they will be doing in their own classrooms, in the library and throughout the school. 

As a school we will have the following dress up days to celebrate the literacy theme of “Find Yourself in a Book” :

Monday, January 22nd  —Sock it to Reading—students may wear crazy socks with their class         t shirt, sports t shirt, club t shirt or school uniform

Tuesday, January 23rd  — Blend into a Good Book—Students may wear camouflage to school or school uniform if not participating

Wednesday, January 24th  —Books Color our World —students may wear the listed color shirt for their grade along with their school uniform bottoms

            6th grade—green

            7th grade—red

            8th grade—yellow

Thursday, January 25th  – Score with Books—Students may wear their favorite team attire or school uniform if not participating

Friday, January 26thStraight Out of a Book—Students may dress as their favorite book character(NO revealing or inappropriate clothing, no tights or leggings, if you are not sure about it, DON’T wear it) or school uniform if not participating. All dress up days are subject to administrative action if dress code is not followed.
