Master's of Science in Special Education from The Florida State University 2013

Bachelor's of Science in Music Therapy from Indiana-Purdue Universities-Ft. Wayne 2005

Associate's of Fine Arts in Music from Young Harris College 2002

After completing my Bachelor's degree in Indiana I moved back south for my internship in Music Therapy at Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, Fl. in 2005. In December of 2005 I was hired as a music therapist. I spent 8 years total working at Florida State Hospital in the civil and forensic units. I conducted therapy groups such as Music Therapy Enrichment, Substance Disorder, Competency, and Psych Rehab.

Starting in 2006 I have taught private music lessons in guitar and piano.

In 2012 I began working per diem at Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital as an Expressive Therapist/Music Therapist. As well in 2012 I received my Hatha Yoga teacher certification.

Other Experiences include: Regional and National Music Therapy conference presentations.

My love for music began at an early age, performing/singing in church at the age of 5. I began playing piano at the age of 7, but soon found that I loved the flute. At 11 years of age I began playing flute and continued playing through college. I participated in marching band from 7-12th grades and concert band.

In 1995, my oldest brother lost his battle to Duschen Muscular Dystrophy, he served as an inspiration for me to combine my love of music and love for helping people into choosing the career field of Music Therapy. God has richly blessed me in my life as a music therapist and allowing me to be apart of many individuals lives over the years.

I am truly excited to begin a new adventure in working with middle school students.

Outside of music I enjoy horseback riding, yoga, running, kayaking (when there's time and I'm not working!), and spending time with my four-legged and furry children! :)
