Education for Marianna Middle School resumes Wednesday, April 1. Students/parents who have chosen the paper-based method will be able to pick up assignments from the school from 9:00-11:30 as well as from 1:00-3:00 PM. Each student will have a folder that includes a week’s worth of assignments for core subjects only. Curbside meals will also be available at MMS from 9:30-11:30 AM on Wednesday, April 1. For students who have elected for assignments to be delivered via bus routes, those assignments will be delivered Wednesday, April 1 along with the 7 days worth of meals from 9:30-until. Paper-based assignments/instruction will be due the following Wednesday from when the assignment was originally given out. For example, assignments that are given out on Wednesday, April 1 will be due Wednesday April 8. When the parent or child comes to pick up assignments on April 8, he or she may turn in the assignments that were given out on April 1. Similarly, students who receive their assignments via bus routes may turn in the assignments from April 1 on April 8 to the bus driver. They will then receive a new week’s worth of assignments to be turned in the following Wednesday. Students who are expecting meals and assignments via bus routes should be on lookout for the bus from 9:30-until.
Online instruction will also begin on Wednesday, April 1. Assignments for the week of April 1-7 will be accessible on the Marianna Middle School website at mms.jcsb.org. Assignments will be in the form of a word document that the student will download, complete, and email back to the teacher. Starting April 8 until students return to school, all online assignments will be uploaded into FOCUS.
All completed surveys have been reviewed and given to teachers. If a survey was not completed for a student, contact should have been made by a teacher to determine your child’s academic needs during this time. If you have not been contacted, please email one of your child’s teachers or call the school at (850)482-9609.
