Mr. Brown's Home Page

I am honored and excited about being a member of the Marianna Middle School Staff.  This is my first year here in the Jackson County School District.  I bring 25 plus years of public school experience with me from my previous district I was employed in.  I have served in just about every educational role available during this time.  I have been a substitute teacher, substitute bus driver, teacher, coach, athletic director, assistant principal, principal, deputy superintendent, and district administrator.  I hope to bring my years of experience in these different areas to MMS and continue to add to the success of this wonderful school and community.  I have been so warmly welcomed by the staff and students here at MMS that it already feels like home.  I look forward to this upcoming year where the students and staff at MMS will continue to break ground and excel in both academics, athletics, and community affairs.
On the personal side I have served 20 years in the Florida Army National Guard and am currently retired from my military service.  During these 20 years I served with the 3rd Battalion, 124th Infantry Regiment, 53rd Infantry Brigade, in various roles from rifleman till my retirement as a Staff Officer in the Battalion.  I attend Westville Community Baptist Church where I teach Sunday School and am the Church Superintendent for services.  I am an avid golfer, which DOES NOT MEAN I am a good golfer (19 Handicap), lol.  I enjoy the outdoors that this part of the country provides which is hunting, fishing, and exploring the woods of the panhandle and south Alabama.  When not spending time with work, family, or friends I enjoy riding my motorcycle along the back roads of the Southeast and dragging my camera along to try and "catch that perfect moment."
