EXCEPTIONAL STUDENT EDUCATION
SUPPORT FACILITATION MODEL
At Marianna Middle School, many of our students with disabilities participate in basic classes with non-disabled peers within an inclusion model called support facilitation. This model enables our ESE students to access the general education curriculum by receiving basic course content instruction from a certified teacher in each subject, while receiving the services and support from an ESE certified instructor in the classroom/subject, either individually, in small groups, or whole group. In other words, while the general education teacher provides the core instruction, the ESE teacher provides services to students with disabilities through support facilitation.
